Our Story
Our mission is simple ... to share God’s love through horses & create a peaceful space where kids and adults can build confidence, character, and lifelong memories.
SaddleRock Farm was born from a grandfather’s dream to draw his family close.
In 1999, Larry Johnson purchased this 40-acre farm with a clear purpose: to give his grandchildren a reason to spend weekends with “Pop and Nana.” He cleaned up what was once a unattended goat farm, created pastures, brought in horses — and it quickly became a beloved retreat for his children and grandchildren.
But God had bigger plans!
In 2010, Larry felt called to open SaddleRock to the public as a ministry. The goal was never about business — it was about building relationships, creating meaningful experiences, and sharing the joy and peace of farm life with families from the community.
A group of friends gathered before opening day to pray over the farm, dedicating it to the Lord’s work — that it would glorify God and become a place of joy, peace, and transformation.
In 2025, Larry’s grandson Garrett and his wife Emily stepped forward to continue that legacy. Garrett, who grew up on the farm, and Emily, who shared that dream, now carry forward the farm’s mission of ministry, hospitality, and horsemanship.

The Parkers

Garrett and Emily Parker are the next generation carrying SaddleRock Farm forward, deeply committed to preserving its history and welcoming every visitor like family.
Garrett Parker was practically raised here, learning horsemanship from an early age while growing up on the farm. As a teenager, he studied Clinton Anderson’s “The Method,” a well-known training philosophy focused on trust, softness, and responsiveness in horses — skills Garrett now applies every day as an experienced horse trainer. He’s also a professional farrier with more than a decade of experience serving the local equine community.
Emily Parker shares Garrett’s passion for this place and played a key role in fulfilling their dream of owning and running the farm together. She now oversees much of SaddleRock’s daily activity — organizing lessons, camps, field trips, and special events — while handling the business side of the farm and raising their family.
Together, Emily and Garrett are dedicated to honoring the vision Larry Johnson began, while continuing to improve and invest in the farm so it remains a peaceful, welcoming place for generations to come.
